Fabric Strategy Plan for a Grade I listed Norman Cathedral and UNESCO World Heritage Site
We led the development of a Fabric Strategy Plan for the Grade I listed Norman Cathedral and its city estate that sits as a key part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This resulted in the creation of a strategic masterplan which led to a long-term programme of maintenance and major, fundable projects – not least, the award-winning 'Open Treasure' exhibition and gallery spaces.
Key Achievements
- Delivered the critically acclaimed 'Open Treasure' project which saw the construction of a new gallery and museum space throughout 14th c. buildings.
- Supported the development of a robust Fundraising Strategy to engage with major funding sources, such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
- Delivered several major conservation projects as well as the installation of new interventions, such as internal porches, library and research spaces, lifts, and a new stained-glass window.
